Copyright
All photos, stories, location descriptions, files, and other materials on Photo.travel are the intellectual property of their creators or the Photo.travel project.
Using these materials without permission is prohibited.
DMCA protection
Photo.travel is protected by the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) — the U.S. law that governs online copyright.
This means:
- we can submit a DMCA takedown to remove illegally published content;
- Google Search removes stolen images from search results;
- websites that ignore DMCA requests may face hosting-level blocking.
Technical protection
For bots and unauthorized visitors, the platform provides up to 800px previews with a hidden watermark.
The EXIF field ImageDescription contains the line Image from Photo.travel.
Full-resolution originals are not hidden or degraded.
Monitoring
Photo.travel monitors external websites for unauthorized use of images, texts, or files and issues DMCA notices when violations are detected.
